The swing arm is deformed or cracked due to impact.

If the direction swings during driving, the weight of the left and right direction is different, the braking direction is deviated, the swing arm is moving or static when bumping or abnormal noise occurs, it indicates that the swing arm has been damaged, and it is recommended to replace it as soon as possible.

We should pay attention to the following points in the use process:

1. Whether it is rusty: if the swing arm is found to be rusty, it must be handled in time to prevent accidents due to fracture;

2. Avoid the chassis scraping: when passing through the potholes, slow down to avoid scratching the chassis, which will cause cracks on the swing arm, and the damage of the swing arm will lead to direction shaking and deviation;

3. Timely replacement: the service life of swing arm made of various materials is different, so it should be replaced in time according to the vehicle maintenance manual and the suggestion of 4S shop;

4. If the swing arm is replaced, four-wheel alignment should be carried out to prevent the car from running off or tire eating.

Main materials of swing arm on the market:

Aluminum alloy material: aluminum alloy material has the characteristics of light weight and high strength, and the automobile aluminum alloy has good toughness, which can match the suspension movement in a better state. However, the price of aluminum alloy lower arm is the most expensive, which is mainly used for luxury brands.

Cast iron material: the so-called cast iron is melted iron, cast into the mold after the plastic to create a fixed shape. The strength and rigidity of cast iron are second only to aluminum alloy. However, due to the characteristics of cast iron and poor toughness, it is often seen that the front suspension of some vehicles is directly fractured rather than deformed.

Double layer stamping parts: in short, the double-layer stamping part is to form two independent shape stamping parts by stamping two steel plates through the machine tool, and then welding the two stamping parts together, the strength is not as good as cast iron, the toughness is better, but it will be stressed and deformed in case of strong impact.

Single layer stamping: as the name suggests, there is only one piece of stamping, not like the two sides stamping parts through welding.
